BELL ATLANTIC AND NetNearU JOIN FORCES
TO EXPAND PUBLIC INTERNET ACCESS

College Station, Texas -- Bell Atlantic and NetNearU Corp. ("NNU") announced today that they have signed an agreement for NNU to provide Bell Atlantic with Internet access terminals and TRACKOSTM remote management software, which Bell Atlantic will install and operate in public locations.

The initial Bell Atlantic installation of NNU terminals is at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island, where users of the enclosed terminals can gain complete access to the Web and related services for 25 cents per minute. Future installations will be in transportation centers and other high-traffic sites.

"Public Internet access terminals take communications for people in motion into the digital age, and Bell Atlantic is pleased to be on the leading edge of this evolution," said John T. Everett, director, public calling products, public communications, for Bell Atlantic.

"Bell Atlantic's commitment to this market underscores the growing public demand for Web access anytime and anywhere," said Larry M. James, chairman and chief executive officer of NetNearU.

The NNU Internet access terminals can be found in airports, restaurants, truck stops, retail outlets and other public places, enabling users to perform a full range of Internet-related functions: access and browse the World Wide Web, send and receive text and video e-mail messages, access online services, play a variety of popular video games, conduct voice communications, and print documents. Terminals are equipped with a floppy drive that allows users to download files and e-mail attachments from the Internet. Users have the option of paying with cash, credit card or an NNU prepaid card.

NNU's proprietary TRACKOSTM software allows terminal owners and licensees to remotely monitor, manage and maintain their Internet-based networks and instantly access data about terminal usage and revenue generation, no matter where in the world the terminals are located. The software also provides for interactive ad management. In addition to the selling price of the terminals, NNU will receive licensing fees for use of its proprietary TRACKOSTM software over the term of the software licensing agreement.

Bell Atlantic is at the forefront of the new communications and information industry. With more than 44 million telephone access lines and more than 20 million wireless customers worldwide, Bell Atlantic companies are premier providers of advanced wireline voice and data services, market leaders in wireless services and the world's largest publishers of directory information. Bell Atlantic companies are also among the world's largest investors in high-growth global communications markets, with operations and investments in 23 countries.
